Michael Feterik, a leader in the international container industry and founder of Orange County Container Group, has purchased Fabtex, Inc., America's largest fabricator of hospitality industry bedding and window treatments, the company announced today (April 6, 2015).
As owner, Feterik has assumed the positions of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for the Danville, PA, based company specializing in hotels, healthcare, cruise lines and government. In addition to the Danville production center, Fabtex also has full manufacturing facilities located in Orange, California and Tijuana Mexico.
Feterik's announcement signals a major expansion strategy for the company. Founded in 1986, Fabtex has experienced recent rapid growth and is poised for further expansion, according to Executive V.P. of Sales Dave Deters. Deters said Feterik's ownership and leadership "is perfectly timed given Feterik's many years of financial management, acquisition and printing experience."
A legend in the corrugated box and container industries, Feterik launched Orange County Container Group in 1981. Starting with only four employees, Feterik built Orange County Container Group into a $750 million business with more than 2,900 employees.
Feterik has a BA in Business Administration from California State University Long Beach and an MA degree In Industrial Psychology and Counseling from the University of Michigan. He also is a former owner of the Canadian Football League (CFL) Calgary Stampeders of Calgary, Alberta.
In addition to fabricating proprietary hotel brands and its own exclusive lines of bedding, drapery, curtains and hardware, Fabtex has developed a host of related companies.

Kevin Feterik has a BA in Recreation Management Youth Leadership from BYU. He excelled not only in academics but sports signing with the Seattle Seahawks and later the Calgary Stampeders. He has held positions as General Manager for Orange County Containers Group where he successfully managed 600 employees. Now at Fabtex Kevin has been responsible for overseeing the start of Fabtex De Baja in Otay Mesa, Mexico and working as liaison with the Mexican Unions and Government. He also is a successful entrepreneur after starting K&D Estates LLC a successful real estate company building 7-12 homes a year. Apart from his many accomplishments Kevin still finds the time to personal train 3 students a year providing private quarterback lessons.
Brad Schmidt has a BA in Business Administration with emphasis in Accounting from California State University Fullerton, along with a minor in mathematics, and holds a CPA license (currently inactive). He has held positions as Vice-President and Corporate Controller with organizations primarily in the manufacturing sector, and has worked with companies such as Black & Decker, Technicolor, Leiner Health Products, and Smurfit Kappa.
Dave Deters is a 30 year veteran of the commercial interiors industry. In addition to his past 10 years with Fabtex, Dave worked as the Specialty Products sales manager with Formica Corporation and Vice-President of Sales in Koroseal Wallcoverings distribution chain. Having successfully worked in hospitality, healthcare, and the contract design markets, Dave's unique perspective has proven valuable with our customer's constantly changing market demands.
Eric is a 20 year veteran of Fabtex, handling the company's relationship with the brands along with overseeing the sales administration, customer service, and installation departments. After graduating with a B.S.B.A. in Marketing/Management in 1999, Eric worked three years in the fire apparatus industry before moving on to start his career at Fabtex in 2002. Outside of the office Eric is a soccer coach, volunteer firefighter, and avid hunter.
